TRAIL ENTRANCE
A surprising amount of people had never realized the trail had a name. We decided to fix this, and create a noticeable entrance to the trail. Bike racks were added to promote biking instead of driving to the trail. The fence clearly separates the trail from the street and prevents cars from entering. The entrance structure provides the name of the trail, as well as, the trail logo which can be seen on signs throughout the path. Behind the sign would be a place for a calendar of events, fun facts about the trail, and other community updates.

TRAIL MARKERS
These signs promote physical activity through educating the public, encouraging users, and asking users to take a look at their physical behaviors. These and more like them will be posted around the trail at regular intervals.
TYPICAL BENCH, TRASH CAN, AND LIGHTING DESIGN
One response to our surveys was to regulate and add additional trash cans, park benches, and lighting on the trail. We chose to place a triad every 200 feet to provide optimal seating and amenities to trail users. The basic designs will blend with the scenery and enhance the user experience.
VOLLEYBALL ACTIVITY AREA
Some of the survey responses indicated a desire for activity areas such as a volleyball court. We decided to carve out an area that incorporated a sand court that could be utilized in other ways, as well as a tetherball pole that would provide other options for recreational use. In this area we incorporated the dynamic bench and table design to provide seating options for viewing and resting. This area was designed to encourage physical activity and connection to the community.

BUSINESS ALLEY
Behind the businesses was a sore spot that could be seen from many points on the trail. The dirty cinder block had been graffitied and stained so many times that the city had given up. Our proposal is to allow the art students from OSU, students from Stillwater High School, and any other group that wishes to create murals like the OKC murals behind the businesses to promote a love of Stillwater. This enhances the beauty of that space and makes the spaces usable. Adding benches and tables allows the businesses to use the area on breaks and become a space people want to gather. The fence and its design acts as a barrier to prevent trash from the businesses dumpsters from blowing into the trees and stream.
HAMMOCK LOUNGE
This lounge activity area was designed to encourage a diverse group of people to gather in one area by accommodating multiple seating and relaxation spots. The tables designed to be customizable for accessibility allow for sitting, standing, and rearranging the benches as needed. To create a natural boundary in the space, seating is provided along the perimeter as well with planters and modular tables incorporated into the design. A large hammock area was designed to allow users to read, write, relax, or socialize with friends in a laid back setting, encouraging the connection to community as well as nature.

WHO BENEFITS FROM THESE CHANGES?
BOOMER LAKE TRAIL USERS
The Boomer Lake trail users will give insight into what they do or don’t like about the current trail conditions. We want to be sure that our designs benefit the people already using the trail. The goal is to bring more foot traffic to the south side of the trail. The proposed designs will promote health and wellness in the Stillwater community.
CIMARRON PLAZA
The business owners in the Cimarron Plaza’s back entrances and alleyway are directly west of the trail and visible from most locations. The delivery entrances back exist, and dumpsters are all located on the side closest to the trail.
STILLWATER HIGH SCHOOL
Not only does Stillwater High School sit within proximity to the trail, but the students often walk the trail before and after school and on lunch break to relax and gather. They walk the trail and find nooks and open spaces to eat lunch or sit around.
